Laboratory lessons of associate professor S.I. Nemchinov from the academic discipline “Resistance of materials”

Associate professors of the Department V.V. Trofimenko, S.I. Nemchinov, D.O. Fedin, V.I. Ovcharenko actively involve students in their researches, who under their leadership repeatedly became the winners in competitions for the best scientific student work. Each year at the Department of Materials Science the first round of student Olympiad on normative educational disciplines “Technology of Structural Materials and Material Science”, “Interchangeability, Standardization and Technical Measurement”, “Theoretical Mechanics”, “Resistance of Materials” is conducted.

The teaching staff of the Department continuously undergoes advanced training and provides internship in the leading higher educational institutions and enterprises of the country, passes its experience and achievements on the teaching of disciplines of the material-science profile to colleagues from other educational institutions, organizes and participates in the work of the main department of technology of metals and materials science of Pridneprovsky the region.

The head of laboratory V.D. Nikitin prepares the equipment for the laboratory practice in the discipline “Structure and properties of materials”

During the last five years, the teachers of the Department published 5 monographs (3 of them in the European Union publishing houses), 10 tutorials (3 of them in the European Union publishing houses) and 36 methodological guidelines for carrying out laboratory works and conducting practical classes. Also created computer programs for individual educational disciplines for distance learning systems.

The teaching staff and the teaching and support staff of the Department conduct active vocational guidance work on entering the university. The Department assigned the following schools: №№ 36, 88, 97, 101, 106, 121 and 137 (Dnipro) and the number 1 (Kirovske village). Engineer 1 category L.O.Sudovska is responsible for vocational guidance work at the department. Throughout the school year graduates at the Department of educational institutions involved in the various activities carried out at the university, become acquainted with its history, characteristics of admissions to university and so on.

Engineer L.O.Sudovska does vocational guidance work on entering the university.

Teachers of the Department take an active part in conducting the days of the open doors of the mechanical faculty. During these events, future entrants will be shown the work of modern and up-to-date scientific equipment used in the educational process. The close cooperation of the teachers of the department with students and their parents, as well as with the teachers of the educational complexes, promotes the interest of students in obtaining modern professions, in obtaining quality education of the European level.

The restructuring of the educational process, the creation of a modern base, the continuous improvement of the qualifications of the teaching staff gave the Department the opportunity to teach the following courses “Computer design of machine parts”, “Software specialized computers”, “Applied Mechanics”, “Details of machines”, “Theory of Mechanisms and machines”,“Fundamentals of design and design” for bachelors and masters of all specialties of the University. The Department has educational and research laboratories equipped with modern facilities and devices.
