The training of engineer-technologists of the inorganic profile atDnipropetrovsk Chemical-Technological Institute started since its foundation, in 1930. The Faculty of Inorganic Compounds is the oldest faculty at the University. Itwas established in 1953, when the need for highly qualified engineering personnel for companies of inorganic chemistry increased greatly. The founder of the faculty was D.Sc. prof. O.V. Baranov.
Currently, the Inorganic Faculty is the center of inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry and chemical technology of inorganic substances, environmental and electrochemical industries, as in Dnipro, in Region and in Ukraine in general. Outstanding scientists, teachers and community figures: academicians L.V. Pisarzhevskyi, V.A. Reuters, V.V. Stender, M.O.Loshkariov (first Minister of Higher Education of Independent Ukraine), V.D. Parkhomenkoworked in different years at the Faculty. Today, the Faculty educates masters, specialists and bachelors from five specialties. Having the high demand for qualified inorganic chemists, the Faculty created favorable conditions for the qualitative training of students. Laboratories of the Faculty departments are well equipped. A rating system for assessing students’ knowledge is introducedin the educational process. Traditionally, special attention is paid to the research work of teachers and students.
