A graduate of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Substances and Ecology received the Water Prize in Norway
Every year, under the auspices of Saint-Gobain PAM Norge AS, the VA Days conference is held in Norway for those who want to learn about current topics and issues in the water industry, meet industry colleagues in an informal setting and, just as importantly, take part in exciting and interesting debates over several days. The conference is a meeting place for government employees, water supply engineers, consultants, contractors, wholesalers and everyone who works and is interested in the topic of water.
This year, during this conference, an award for young professionals in the field of water technology was presented for the first time – the “Dråpen” (Drop) award. This award recognizes the young generation of professionals who will manage the world’s most important resource in the future, taking into account the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. And Evelina Koltsova, a graduate of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Substances and Ecology, who is a bright representative of the younger generation, and who works every day with the design of water systems and other problems related to water, was awarded the first award.
In 2018, Evelina graduated from UDHTU with a master’s degree in 101 Ecology, and simultaneously studied at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norges miljø- og biovitenskapelige universitet ) thanks to the participation of the TNR and E department in the international educational project “Harmonization of diploma education related to water resources (Vodna Harmony)” under the Erasmus+ program.
After receiving a diploma at UDHTU, Evelina continued her studies in Norway under the program “Drinking and wastewater treatment technology”. After graduation, Evelina started her career in the water industry and currently works as a water and environmental engineer at Asplan Viak , Norway.
In addition to the award itself, Evelina received a scholarship for a trip to France, where PAM has the largest production of cast iron pipes in Europe. The purpose of the trip is to increase competence in the production and use of ductile iron pipes and related products.
The trip will take place June 19-21, 2023 and will include the following:
- PAM presentation
- Presentation of ductile iron products
- Tour of the plant
- Visiting the test center and learning about the French water supply system
- Presentation of sustainable development
- Visit the technocenter.
The Department of TNR and E congratulates Evelina Koltsova with distinction and wishes her further career development!
