Participation of students and teachers of the TNR and E department in the III annual All-Ukrainian online congress for future managers of the green economy and ecologists
On November 22, 2022, students of the educational and professional program 101 “Ecology” (bachelor’s degree) and “Ecology and environmental protection” (master’s degree) of the state higher educational institution “Ukrainian State Chemical and Technological University” and teachers of the department of technology of inorganic substances and ecology prof. I. L. Kovalenko, Assoc. Skiba M.I, Assoc. Khlopytskyi O.O. took part in the III annual All-Ukrainian online congress for future managers of the green economy and ecologists .
The All-Ukrainian online congress for future managers of the green economy is organized by the Association of Environmental Professionals “PAEU” together with the Office of Sustainable Solutions with the assistance of the UNDP within the framework of the UN Program for Reconstruction and Peacebuilding and with the financial support of the European Union.
The main goal of the congress was to demonstrate the prospects for the professional development of future specialists during the war, their role in the post-war green reconstruction of Ukraine; the multifaceted challenges of the field, especially in the conditions of climate change caused by decarbonization and the war in Ukraine, as well as the creation of a platform for networking between experts in the environmental field.
Incorporating interactive studios and stakeholder presentations, the main environmental challenges that will be the focus of the next 20 years were discussed. Representatives of the real sector of the economy (Ukrainian and international companies) and local authorities told where knowledge from the field of environmental protection can be applied and defined the requirements for the training of professional ecologists, the level of their knowledge, skills, competencies, in particular, professions related to issues of environmental protection .
The congress covered such topics as:
- management of professional development in environmental protection and ecopersonality marketing;
- Involvement in the profession: how can students start working in the field of environmental protection?
- eco-specialists of the new generation and the development of the applied sphere of environmental protection;
- sustainable development strategy: a look into the future;
- how to ensure the institutional capacity of Ukraine to shape the green course;
- what did the war change in the climatic, food, environmental spheres and how will it affect the requirements for future professions;
- digital transformation of environmental protection management, etc.
