Since 2002, he has been an associate professor of the Department of Power Engineering at the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology, and since 2017, he has been a professor at the Department of Power Engineering.

Under his scientific supervision, 3 candidate dissertations were defended. Maintains scientific ties with Germany.

Oleksandr Ivanovich Nesterenko worked at the Department of Physics since 1976: from 1976 to 1979 – senior researcher; from 1979 to 1981 – assistant; from 1981 to 1989 – associate professor; from 1989 to 2020 Professor, Head of the Department of Physics. Currently – Professor of Power Engineering Department.

In 1990 and 1991, he gave a course of lectures for doctoral students. University of Dresden (Germany). Graduated from Dnepropetrovsk National University in 1971. in the specialty “Aircraft engines”; Mechanical engineer.

Under the leadership of Oleksandr Ivanovich Nesterenko, students have repeatedly won prizes at the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Physics.
