Viktor Ivanovych Holeus has an honorary title “Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine” (2005), was awarded the sign “Excellence in Science of Ukraine” (2000), and a sign “For Scientific Achievements” (2010).

Disciplines taught: “Mathematical modeling and use of electronics in chemical technology”, “Chemical technology glass and glassware”. Annually he is the leader of 10 scientific and research diploma works of specialists and masters.

Scientific interests: studying the conditions of glass formation, the relationship between the chemical structure, oxide composition, and physical and chemical properties of borosilicate and other oxide glass; development of mathematical models for describing the properties of glasses depending on their oxide composition; the synthesis of new oxide glasses and the development of the basics of the technology of manufacturing electrical insulation, heat and corrosion-resistant, and other coatings on metals and ceramics on their basis.

Publications: author of more than 150 scientific works and more than 50 copyright certificates and patents.

Postgraduate and doctoral student guidance: 7 candidate’s theses and 2 doctoral theses are under management, 1 applicant is working.

Oleksandr Viktorovych Zaichuk

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, First Vice-Rector of SHEI USUCT

In 2001, Oleksandr Viktorovych Zaichuk graduated from SHEI Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology and obtained a master’s degree in chemical technology and engineering with a degree in “Chemical technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials.” In 2004 he defended his dissertation on “Colored glass coatings based on raw glazes” in the specialty 05.17.11 “Technology of refractory non-metallic materials.” The academic title of associate professor of the Department of Chemical Technology of Ceramics and Glass was awarded in 2011. In the period 2011–2012, he was a scholarship holder of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists. In 2015 he defended his dissertation on “Physico-chemical basis of the technology of ceramic pigments based on slag of ferrous metallurgy” for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Oleksandr Viktorovych Zaichuk is a reviewer of scientific articles in the journal “Questions of Chemistry and Chemical Technology”, and was also involved as a reviewer in the journal “Processing and Application of Ceramics”, which is included in the scientometric database Scopus. From 2016 to the present, he is a permanent member of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, section 16 “Chemistry”. In the period from 2016 to 2018, Oleksandr Viktorovych Zaichuk was a member of the scientific and methodological commission on engineering (subcommittee “161 Chemical Technologies and Engineering”) of higher education sector of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Disciplines taught: “Thermal processes and units in the technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials”, “Chemistry and technology of pigments”. Supervisor of both design and research theses in the field of ceramic materials.

Research interests: theoretical and experimental research of ceramic and glass-crystalline materials for technical purposes, research and development of ceramic pigments based on various industrial wastes, as well as protective coatings (glaze, engobe) for fine and building ceramics.

Publications: author of more than 100 scientific papers and 30 patents.

Postgraduate and doctoral student guidance: 1 candidate’s dissertation is defended under his supervision.

Olha Petrivna Ryzhova

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of SHEI USUCT.

Olha Petrivna Ryzhova graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Institute of Chemical Technology in 1981 with a degree in Chemical Technology of Glass and Sieves. She defended her Ph.D. dissertation “Low-Balt Soil Enamels for Steel” in 1987, and her doctoral dissertation “Scientific Fundamentals of Colored Ecologically Safe Enamel Technology” in 2020. Year of awarding the title of an Associate Professor – 2023.

Disciplines taught: “Crystallography and mineralogy”, “Methods of research of silicate structures”, “Color science”. Supervises research theses of bachelors and masters.

Research interests: the study of patterns of color formation of enamel coatings and development of a method for predicting their optical-color characteristics; synthesis of jewelry and art glasses that do not contain lead oxides; obtaining on their basis coatings for non-ferrous metals.

Publications: more than 70 publications in the form of scientific articles, abstracts of reports at scientific conferences and patents, is a co-author of a textbook with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science “Methods of research of silicate structures”.

In 2003, Olena Sergiivna Khomenko graduated from the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology with a degree in “chemical technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials” and received a master’s degree in chemical technology and engineering. In 2007 she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences on “Fine ceramic masses based on alkaline kaolin for sanitary products of low-temperature firing”, received the title of associate professor of chemical technology of ceramics and glass in 2014. In 2019, she completed an internship at the University Of Ruse “A. Kanchev ”(Razgrad, Bulgaria)

Disciplines taught: “Technology of ceramic materials and refractories”, “Fundamentals of technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials (ceramics and refractories)”, “Metrology, standardization and certification of products in the technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials”. Manages design and research theses in the field of ceramics technology. Actively works with school students at the Small Academy of Sciences.

Research interests: improvement of ceramic masses and technologies in the production of building ceramics, development of engobes and glazes for ceramic bricks, development of energy and resource-saving technologies in the production of porcelain, improvement of sol-gel technologies in the manufacture of ceramics.

Publications: co-author of more than 150 scientific papers, including 39 articles and 31 patents. He is a co-author of 4 textbooks, including the MES stamp.

In 2002, Oleksii Oleksandrovych Sihunov graduated from the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology with the specialty “Chemical technology of refractory non-metallic silicate materials” (qualification, master’s degree, lecturer in higher education, engineer-technologist). He defended his Ph.D. thesis in 2006, specialty 05.17.11 – the technology of refractory non-metallic materials, the theme of the dissertation “Energy saving technology for the production of Portland cement clinker on the basis of a crude raw material mixture, which includes blast furnace granulated slag.”

Disciplines taught: lectures on disciplines “Chemical technology of astringent materials”, “Physical chemistry of refractory non-metal and silicate materials”, “Technology of production of cement and products on its basis” for students of the specialty “Chemical technology of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials.
