In 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Latvian Science Council announced a competition for joint Ukrainian-Latvian research projects to be implemented in 2023-2024.

To participate in the competition, an application was submitted from the State Technical University of Ukraine UDHTU (Ukraine) and the Riga Technical University (Latvia) in the direction of “Ecology and rational nature management, including marine research, in particular research on the pollution of sea water areas by chemicals and microplastics”.

According to the results of the competition, funding was allocated for 2023-2024 of the research project “Prepolymers based on natural renewable raw materials with silyl end groups for the creation of a one-component weatherproof sealant”, from the Ukrainian side, the head is Professor Sitar Volodymyr Ivanovych, performed by prof. Oleg Stanislavovych Kabat, associate professor Mitina Natalia Borysivna.
