DEPARTMENT OF BINDING MATERIALS
The Department of Technology of Binding Materials was established in 1977. By this time, since September 1953, the Department of Silicate Technology has been functioning at the University, which in 1977 was divided into two departments: the chemical technology of ceramics and glass and the chemical technology of binding materials. Its first head until 1985, was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yu.D. Barinov.
Since 1985, the head of the Department was the candidate of technical sciences, associate professor V.O.Kulik.
Since 2005, the head of the Department was doctor of technical sciences, professor A. A. Saliei who defended his doctoral dissertation in 2008.
Prominent scientists formed the basis of the Department:
- Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, State Prize Laureate of the former USSR, world-renowned scientist in the field of theoretical and practical issues of crushing materials V. V. Tovarov.
- a repeated laureate of VDNKh of the former USSR and the former UkrSSR, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor M. D. Shcheglova, a developer of technology for the production of slag sawn and avanturine glass.
Students of V.V.Tovarov who worked at the Department, the candidates of technical sciences G. M. Oskalenko, O. V. Kosenko, O. F. Shevchenko, V. O. Kulik, L. V. Zakharova, A. A. Saliei are known at the cement factories of Ukraine and abroad.
