Excursion to the enterprise PrJSC “Oril-Leader”

On November 3, 2023, teachers and students of specialties 101 Ecology and 161 Chemical technologies and engineering departments of Technologies of inorganic substances and ecology visited the enterprise PJSC Oril- Leader”, which is part of the “MHP” holding.

During the excursion, environmental students and future specialists in drinking water technology and industrial water treatment visited the wastewater treatment complex and the Biogas complex for biochemical waste processing. Future graduates were introduced to all stages of anaerobic waste processing: from preparation of raw materials to direct fermentation, desulfurization, production of biogas and generation of heat and electricity based on it. Thanks to waste processing, the enterprise generates electrical energy due to the burning of the obtained biogas, which is supplied to external power networks. In case of blackouts or other emergency situations, the enterprise is able to fully provide itself with thermal and electrical energy. Waste from biogas production is accumulated by the enterprise and used later by agricultural enterprises as a valuable fertilizer.

Students saw with their own eyes the operation of treatment plant equipment, gas purification, methane tanks, etc., got acquainted with the main technological parameters of the processes, had the opportunity to communicate with shop managers and technologists, got acquainted with the remote monitoring and process control system of the Biogas complex.

Such activities arouse the extraordinary interest of students and have a strong motivational value. Difficult weather conditions and an unpleasant smell (especially at the stage of preparation of raw materials) could not spoil the general impression of the excursion.

The Department of TPR and Ecology expresses its sincere gratitude to the MHP holding, the organizers of the excursion, and the specialists of the Biogas complexes and sewage treatment plants for their professional reception, care and interest in future specialists.
