On March 12, 2025, a significant event took place for the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology – the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between LLC “MOVA I KO” represented by Director Boris GILDIN and the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology represented by Rector Konstantyn SUKHOI and Acting Director of the USUCT SEI Olga SVERDLIKOVSKAYA. Close friendship and long-term relations of technological and scientific interaction between the Department of Technologies of Natural and Synthetic Polymers, Fats and Food Products of the USUCT SEI and the “MOVA” brewery led to the consolidation of relations on paper. This is not just a document – it is an opportunity for bilateral contact between manufacturers and an educational institution, an opportunity for business support of the educational industry. As part of the cooperation between the Department of Food Technology and the Department of Chemical Engineering, with the direct participation of the rector of the university, the institute’s management and with the help of the enterprise’s management, an own brewery plant has been opened and put into operation, which allows you to visually reproduce the technological process of brewing in the conditions of the educational process in the laboratory. With the support, consultation and technical support from specialists in the beer industry, students of the food technology specialty already in the initial training courses study the technological process at production stages adapted to real conditions. The skills they acquire in practical classes can be safely used in the future at large enterprises. At the same time, food industry specialists can exchange experience with university scientists and acquire theoretical knowledge as part of advanced training.
The day of signing the memorandum was marked by the grand opening of the brewery and the start of brewing classic beer with the participation of 4th-year students of the specialty “food technologies” under the clear leadership of the head brewer Bogdan TOCHKA and the head of the Department of Food Technology and Chemical Engineering Oleg CHERWAKOV. The director of the company “MOVA” expressed his vision of further cooperation, namely the adjustment and equipping of the brewery in the laboratory with more modern equipment to obtain a truly high-quality finished product. The opportunities that open up for university students are limitless! Enterprises of the industry see the prospect of such cooperation with higher education institutions and aim to go further and develop. Students are involved in the technological process already at an operating enterprise and are potential employees.
A successful combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills is the key to success!
