The historical drama “Shchedryk” on the screen of the Art space of SEI USUCT
On October 10, 2024, the students gathered in the Artspace of the National Institute of the USUCT to watch the historical drama “Shchedrik”. This film tells about the role of the Ukrainian song as a powerful symbol of the struggle for independence and its influence, which remains relevant even today.
Shchedryk is a Ukrainian historical drama directed by Olesya Morhunets-Isayenko based on the script by Ksenia Zastavska. This is an emotional story about the lives of three families of different nationalities united by the tragedy of war. The authors of the film also focused attention on the unique traditions of celebrating Christmas among Ukrainians and Poles.
The film immersed the audience in the atmosphere of war and pain, but at the same time gave a sense of unity, love and indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit. In it carols sound very sensually, in it sincere children’s laughter and deep parental love, as well as strong eternal love.
Students were moved to share their impressions after the screening, because this film did not leave anyone indifferent.
Joint film screenings of such masterpieces are an important part of the cultural life of our university, contributing to the unification and strengthening of national consciousness.
