Online lecture “Jane Austen in the language of Hollywood”

As part of studying the discipline “History of foreign literature” on December 16, 2023, students of the OPP “Secondary education. Ukrainian language and literature” and “Secondary education. English language and literature and a second foreign language” listened to the online lecture “Jane Austen in the language of Hollywood”, delivered by Dr. Philol. of Sciences Sofia Filonenko (Ukrainian Catholic University) and Ph.D. Natalia Dorfman (Black Sea National University named after Petro Mohyla).

Dedicated to the latest screen adaptations of the novels “Emma” and “Proofs of Mind”, the lecture was held on the occasion of the English writer’s birthday. Students not only heard interesting facts from the life of Jane Austen, who wrote so-called moral novels and was the forerunner of realism in English literature, but also learned about the peculiarities of the interpretation of her works in modern cinema.
