Grand opening of the scientific tournament “First USUST Hackathon”

On February 11, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology hosted the grand opening of a scientific tournament – the First USUST Hackathon, which brought together young scientists and innovators.

As part of the event, the National Research and Technological Research Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” launched the Section “Natural and Technological”, moderated by Ihor Kovalenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology.

The hackathon brought together 14 innovative projects, on which participants will work in teams together with mentors. The event was attended by students from 14 educational institutions of the city and region, including:

  • Chumakivsky Lyceum of Chumakivsky Village Council of Dnipro District
  • Obukhovsky Lyceum of Obukhivsky Village Council of Dnipro District, Dnipropetrovsk Region

Representatives of the following departments of the National Research Institute of Udmurt State Technical University actively participate in the hackathon:

  • Technology of natural and synthetic polymers, fats and food products;
  • Technology of fuels, polymer and printing materials;
  • Technology of inorganic substances and ecology;
  • Chemical technologies of ceramics, glass and biomedical materials;
  • Analytical chemistry and chemical technology of food additives and cosmetics;
  • Inorganic chemistry;
  • pharmacy and technology of organic substances;
  • biotechnology and life safety.

As well as representatives of the Department of Environmental and Civil Safety of the National Research Institute of Information Technology.

For several days, the teams will work on their ideas, develop scientific solutions and implement innovative approaches. We look forward to the results of their fruitful work and the presentation of the final projects!
