Getting practical experience from professionals

Students of the department of information systems for nine weeks participated in practical workshops from the Live Coding series from SoftServe Academy. Worked with C++, C#, .Net, React.js, Node.js, Vanilla.js, Python, received practical work skills under the guidance of experienced experts of the SoftServe company, had the opportunity to ask any questions, if something is not clear and immediately get an answer from an expert.

The theoretical foundations were provided and the experience of practical use of educational components was highlighted:

  • for applicants of the first (bachelor) level of higher education of the educational program 122 “Computer Sciences”:
    • “Algorithmization and programming”, “Object-oriented programming” (workshop on “LIVE CODING with C++, C#”);
    • “Organization of databases and knowledge” (workshop on the topic “LINQ in .Net”);
    • “Methods and systems of artificial intelligence”, “Neural networks” (workshop on the topic “Neural networks”);
    • “WEB technologies and WEB design” (workshops on the topic “Creating the client part using Vanilla.js”, “Collections in .Net”, “Creating the client part using Node.js”, “LINQ in .Net “, “Creating the client part using React.js”);
    • “System modeling” (workshop on “LIVE CODING with Python”);
  • for applicants of the educational program 121 “Software Engineering”:
    • “WEB technologies and WEB design” (workshops on the topic “Creating the client part using React.js” and “Creating the client part using Vanilla);
    • “Introduction to software engineering” (the topic “Application deployment using github-pages”);
    • “Algorithmization and programming”, “Organization of databases and knowledge”, “Object-oriented programming” (workshop on the topic “Creating the server part of the application using Node.js),
    • “Neural networks” (workshop on Neural networks”).
Topics of the workshop “Neural networks”:

  • acquaintance with neural networks and their types;
  • construction of simple neural networks using various activation functions;
  • neural network training and real life examples

were especially useful for students of the educational program 122 “Computer Science” for the second (master’s) higher education, because they correspond to the topics of the educational component ” Computational intelligence”.
