Writing the Radiodictator of National Unity 2024
On October 25, 2024, on the eve of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, the university family, under the leadership of the directorate of the National Research Institute of USUCT, took part in writing Radio dictation of national unity. The event took place in auditorium 132, where all those willing gathered to write a dictation together, joining the all-Ukrainian language flash mob. Those who could not be present in the audience had the opportunity to participate online, as did thousands of Ukrainians in different parts of the world.
This year’s text of the dictation was created by the famous Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko, and it was read by Pavlo Vyshebaba – a military man, musician, eco-activist and poet, whose creativity and civic position are a symbol of love for his native language .
Radio dictation of national unity has long since become the largest Ukrainian-language flash mob, uniting Ukrainians and connoisseurs of the Ukrainian language from all over the world. The purpose of this event is not so much to test literacy, but to create a sense of unity that inspires and supports cultural identity. This is a reminder to all of us that Ukrainians are the carriers and custodians of the Ukrainian language for future generations.
We are grateful to everyone who participated in writing the dictation this year, both at the university and online, confirming their support and love for the Ukrainian language and its development!
