St. Andrew’s Eve in the Art Space of the National Institute of Economics of the University of Economics

artprosOn November 29, 2024, the Art Space of the NNI of the UDCTU hosted the celebration of one of the most colorful Ukrainian winter holidays – Andreievsky Vechornytsy. This event brought together students from different faculties who immersed themselves in the atmosphere of folk traditions and rituals.

The Vechornytsy became a real celebration of unity and humor, because the guests sang Ukrainian songs together, listened to folk jokes and proverbs, and also took part in entertainment. One of the main events of the holiday was the game “Kalita”, which traditionally tested dexterity and brought a lot of laughter. Someone tried to bite the kalita without the help of hands, and someone played the role of “Mr. Kotsiubynsky”, punishing the losers!

There was also delicious dumplings – another integral part of the Andreievsky Vechornytsy. I especially liked the dumplings with surprises, which gave a lot of positive emotions.

The holiday not only gave a good mood, but also became a reminder of the wealth of Ukrainian traditions that unite generations. “Our family is strong, the memory of the past is alive in it!”, – was said during the evenings, emphasizing the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of our people.

We express our gratitude to all participants of the event and museum guides for organizing it, as well as the trade union committee of the National Institute of Ukrainian History and Culture of the Ukrainian State Technical University for supporting this event! Let’s preserve and multiply our cultural heritage!tir Ukrainian State Technical University
