Professor of the Department of Inorganic Substances and Ecology Technology at SEI «Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology» **USUST**, Doctor of Technical Sciences Margarita Skiba became one of the heroines of the Ukrainian Vogue edition publication dedicated to women in science.

The material features three Ukrainian researchers, laureates of the L’Oréal–UNESCO “For Women in Science” award, representing different scientific fields and showcasing the modern face of Ukrainian science. Among them is Margarita Skiba, whose research focuses on the development of chemical technologies, particularly the processing of industrial waste and the creation of new materials.

In the interview, the professor shared her vision of science as a dynamic and open space where not only knowledge is important, but also the ability to work in a team, initiate new projects, and take responsibility for results. She emphasizes that significant motivation comes from grant activities, which allow not only implementing scientific ideas but also developing the institute’s material and technical base.

Margarita Skiba pays special attention to professional growth, noting that a scientific career does not become easier over time but opens new opportunities and challenges that make it more meaningful and interesting.

Among her scientific achievements, she mentions research related to obtaining nanomaterials, which became the foundation for her further scientific developments and doctoral dissertation. At the same time, the professor highlights the importance of freedom in choosing research directions and the constant search for new ideas. International recognition, particularly the victory in the L’Oréal–UNESCO program, she considers an important stage in her professional development, confirming the significance and impact of her scientific work.
