On October 10-11, 2023, the first business conference “CosmoPobut 2023” of the Association of Perfumery and Cosmetic Industry Enterprises was held in Kyiv. About 200 participants, including suppliers of raw materials, manufacturers and network distributors of cosmetics and household chemicals, exchanged experience, latest developments and the problem of the development of the industry.

Among the main issues, the main focus was the problem of the lack of qualified specialists in the field. It was the issue of personnel training in the field of cosmetics and perfumery that was highlighted by a separate block of the conference, which raised a whole layer of questions about the lack of human resources. Of course, who is better able to convey to manufacturers the specifics of personnel training than representatives of higher education as direct participants in the process from the inside. Universities and institutes are the main suppliers of specialists for all branches of production.

One of the key reports was the presentation of the associate professor of the Department of Technologies of Natural and Synthetic Polymers, Fats and Food Products of the Ukrainian State Chemical and Technological University of Ukraine, candidate of technical sciences RUDNEVOVA Larisa on the problems of training specialists in today’s conditions and implementation of higher education reforms. By the way, Larysa RUDNYEVA was the only representative of higher education institutions at this event.

The report did not leave any manufacturer indifferent, because everyone understands that further development is impossible without the cooperation of education and business. The training of qualified specialists is a modern mutual goal of both the manufacturer and the state policy as a whole. Possibilities of dual education, the creation of clusters, bilateral and tripartite agreements on cooperation between enterprises and higher education institutions, the creation of scientific and educational centers, the provision of advisory services, the involvement of enterprise representatives as stakeholders, the application of the experience of European countries, etc. were discussed.

Informative, constructive and relevant – all the questions raised did not leave all listeners of the event indifferent. Each of the participants received a meaningful case for further professional and conceptual development. We hope for further cooperation with the Association “Perfume and Cosmetics of Ukraine” and the effectiveness of the proposed measures.
