New realities of post-war society: round table results
On April 9–10, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology (USUCT) became a platform for an interdisciplinary round table “New Realities of Post-War Society of Ukraine: Management, Business, Hospitality, Culture”. The event was organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Department of Management and Finance of the Faculty of Economics, Humanities and Law, which became a significant event for the university community.
The organizers of the event were: Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology (Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology) (Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology), Prydniprovsk State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology), S. Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Kharkiv Polytechnic National University, Radom University of Technology. Kazimierz Pulaski (Poland), Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (Turkey), Conestoga College (Canada), as well as other scientific institutions and professional associations. The event was attended by foreign scientists from Europe and Canada, specialists from more than 10 cities of Ukraine, including postgraduate students and students.
The main areas of discussion of the round table covered a number of important topics:
- Transformation of management processes and adaptation of business to the realities of the post-war period;
- Current challenges of the hospitality industry;
- Cultural aspects of the restoration of Ukrainian society.
The round table meeting was opened by the co-chairs of the organizing committee, who congratulated the Department of Management and Finance on its significant anniversary and emphasized its significant contribution to the development of education and science:
- Olexandr Zaychuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of USUST, who emphasized the important role of the department and its significance in the development of the university;
- Olga Sverdlikovska, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Acting Director of the SEI USUCT USUST, who noted the successes of the department and its contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists and the development of educational programs;
- Nataliya Chupryna, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Humanities and Law of the National Research Institute of USUCT USUST, Executive Director of the NGO “Union of Marketers of Ukraine”, who thanked the department for its significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian economy;
- Nataliya Yashkina, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Management and Finance of the National Research Institute of USUCT USUST, expressed gratitude to colleagues and students for the joint achievements of the department over 30 years. .
Congratulations were also received from members of the Scientific Advisory Board, who emphasized the significance of the department in the field of educational and scientific activities.

- Alla Tkachenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department Business and Management, Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University;
- Inna Rudkevych, Doctor of Public Administration, Director of the Dnipropetrovsk College of Arts and Crafts;
- Larysa Garmider, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Economics and Law, National Research Institute of Udmurt State Technical University Udmurt State Technical University;
- Olga Kuchkova, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Marketing and Logistics, National Research Institute of Udmurt State Technical University Udmurt State Technical University;
- Olexandr Savchenko, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Philology and Translation, National Research Institute of Udmurt State Technical University Udmurt State Technical University.
The round table “New Realities of Post-War Society of Ukraine: Governance, Business, Hospitality, Culture” became a platform for discussing important ideas, each of which contributed to the formation of a modern vision of challenges and opportunities for Ukraine. During the round table, a number of reports were presented:
- Nataliya Levchenko, Doctor of Public Administration, Professor of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, in her report “Sensitization of the Ukrainian Energy Sector to Global Transformational Changes” focused on the need to adapt the energy sector to the conditions of global instability.
- Viktoria Bozhanova and Kateryna Kharchenko, representatives of the Prydniprovska State Academy of Construction and Architecture, presented the report “Management of the Activities of an Enterprise in the Construction Sector: Management Tools, Production, Business Architecture, and Urban Identity” where they considered modern approaches to management that contribute to increasing the efficiency of construction companies and forming the identity of Ukrainian cities using markers of national culture;
- Bektash Çetin, Professor of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University (Turkey), presented a view on the development entrepreneurial culture in rural tourism in the report “Developing entrepreneurship culture in rural tourism”, which received positive feedback from the participants. The professor spoke in English, the translation was carried out by Oleksandr Savchenko, head of the Department of Philology and Translation;
- Svetlana Novitska, manager of the Neptun restaurant in Dnipro, during her speech “Actual problems of the functioning of the restaurant business” spoke about the challenges facing catering establishments in the context of economic changes.
- Ganna Starkova, candidate of cultural studies, associate professor at the S. Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University, in an intriguing report “Memes as a source of news: entertaining content in the modern world” revealed the phenomenon of memes as forms of information and the formation of public opinion.
Each report sparked interesting discussions, which once again confirmed the relevance of the issues raised. The ideas expressed by the participants laid the foundation for the further development of management approaches, innovations and cultural renewal in Ukraine.
The scientific event confirmed the importance of the topics raised and the high level of professional interest from scientists, teachers and students. The 30th anniversary of the Department of Management and Finance was an excellent opportunity to sum up the successes and identify new horizons for development.
Based on the results of the round table, an electronic collection of abstracts will be published.
