Lyceum No. 136 Students Complete the “USUCT IT Test Drive: Flutter” Mini Course
The Educational and Scientific Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) has successfully completed the “USUCT IT Test Drive: Flutter” career guidance mini course, organised by the Department of Information Systems for senior students of Lyceum No. 136. This educational initiative provided an excellent opportunity for school students to explore the world of modern programming and take their first steps towards a career in information technology.
The course was designed and delivered by Volodymyr Anisimov, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems and PhD in Engineering, who has extensive practical experience in software development using the Flutter framework.
Throughout the programme, participants learned the fundamentals of Flutter—a modern framework for developing mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms. Widely adopted across the IT industry and in education, Flutter enables learners to move quickly from theoretical concepts to creating fully functional software applications.
The practical component of the course focused on the development of a real-time Bitcoin price tracking application. For many participants, this was their first experience of completing the entire software development cycle—from writing code to delivering a fully functional mobile application.
The most active and successful participants were awarded certificates of completion. The awards were presented by Volodymyr Anisimov, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems, during the Last Bell celebration at Lyceum No. 136.
Educational initiatives such as this provide school students with an early introduction to modern information technologies while fostering algorithmic thinking and practical programming skills. They also help prospective applicants gain a better understanding of IT careers and make informed decisions about their future field of study.
The successful implementation of projects like this is made possible by the academic staff of the Department of Information Systems of the Educational and Scientific Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology“, who combine strong academic expertise with extensive industry experience. This approach ensures that the learning process closely reflects the real needs of today’s IT industry while inspiring young people to pursue further professional development.
