The Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety of the SEI USUCT of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology continues to implement a dual form of education in the educational program “Civil Security” (specialty K10 “Civil Security”).

Student of group 4-CB-52 Vladimir Ivanov combines studies at the university with practical training in production. He undergoes dual training at the enterprise PJSC “Oril-Lider”, where he works as a junior fire safety specialist. The individual dual training program is formed in accordance with the curriculum of the educational program and is coordinated with the practice base.

During dual training, the student acquires and improves professional skills, in particular:

• records the radiation background on the territory of the enterprise with the preparation of protocols and maintaining accounting documentation;
• works with monitoring systems for violations at production sites;
• participates in photo and video recording of fire brigade training, as well as in the preparation of reporting materials;
• participates in training for fire brigades in the theory and practice of extreme medicine, applying the knowledge gained during specialized courses.

According to Volodymyr, the dual form of education allows for a deeper understanding of theoretical material through its direct application in real production conditions, as well as a better understanding of future professional activities.
