Evening in memory of Professor of USUCT Obraztsov Volodymyr Borisovich
On November 20, 2024, an evening of remembrance was held in the reading room of the library of the NNI of UDCTU to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding scientist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Borisovich Obraztsov. The event brought together colleagues, students, friends and relatives who came to honor his contribution to science and remember him as a man with a multifaceted talent.
During the evening, the following people shared their memories:
- Professor Valery Ivanovich Ovcharov.
- Professor Vladimir Georgievich Nefedov.
- Professor Konstantin Serhievich Burmistrov.
- Researcher Nikola Volodymyrovych Toropin.
- Professor Olexandr Viktorovich Chervakov.
- Associate Professor Anatoly Anatolyovich Kovbyk.
- Associate Professor Maryna Volodymyrivna Ivanova.
- Associate Professor Pavlo Vasilyovich Ryabik.
- The professor’s wife — Tetyana Petrovna Obraztsova.
All the speeches were united by one thought: Volodymyr Borisovich was an outstanding personality, purposeful and talented in everything he undertook. He was remembered not only as an outstanding scientist, but also as an athlete (fencer and football player), a talented musician (singer and guitarist) and a sincere friend.
Such events are important for preserving the memory of outstanding personalities who shaped the scientific, cultural and sports heritage of the university. As long as memories are alive, memory is alive.
We express our gratitude to the management of the Institute of Scientific Research of the Udmurt State Technical University and the trade union committee of the university for supporting this event, as well as to everyone who joined in honoring the memory of Professor Obraztsov.
Background information.
Vladimir Borisovich Obraztsov (1954 – 2014) was a well-known scientist in the field of chemistry and specialized in the study of electrochemical processes, metal corrosion, and the creation of inhibitors of acid corrosion of steel. His works include experimental studies of the adsorption of cationic polyelectrolytes and their associates, as well as the development of nanostructured materials. The scientist made a significant contribution to fundamental research in electrochemistry and innovative applied developments, collaborating with leading scientific programs of the Udmurt State Technical University and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
