A meeting with the Ukrainian defender Yuriy Bereza at the National University of Ukraine

On November 7, 2024, an important meeting with the Ukrainian defender, entrepreneur and politician Yuriy BEREZA took place at the University of Ukraine. She became part of the project “Talk to the defender”, which was launched at UDUNT.

The meeting was organized by the leadership of the Directorate of the National Institute of Technical Education of UDHTU. The guest was introduced to the students by Yaroslav KOZLOV, deputy director of the National Research Institute of UDHTU.

Yurii Bereza, during pro-Russian speeches in Ukraine and military operations in Donbas, commanded the special purpose regiment “Dnipro-1”, formed of volunteers, and headed the National Defense Staff of the Dnipropetrovsk region. People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation.

Yurii Bereza fought for the independence of Ukraine for 10 years and came to tell the youth about the importance of everyone’s contribution to the joint victory over the enemy.

This meeting was not just an opportunity to see a real hero, but also an opportunity to feel even greater gratitude for the fact that we live under a peaceful sky, thanks to such brave people as Yuriy Bereza.

Patriotic upbringing of youth is an integral part of the educational process and shaping the future of our country.

During the event, students had the opportunity to talk with a soldier of the legendary unit, learn about his combat experience.

Galyna EVSEYEVA, vice-rector for educational work and humanitarian policy of USUNT, told the students about how our project will continue, thanked the students for their activity and concern.

Our country is currently at war, so such meetings between students and the military are very important. This is not only an opportunity to learn about the specifics of military affairs, but also an important element of national education and the formation of patriotism.

After the meeting, we invited the guests to the History Museum of the NNI UDHTU. Our tour guides told the history of the university and showed the “Memory Book of UDHTU”.
