Students engaged in scientific clubs of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety of SEI USUCT achieved outstanding results at the National Final of the All-Ukrainian competition “Genius Olympiad Ukraine – 2026” in the “Science” category.

Under the guidance of the department’s lecturers, the school students work on relevant scientific topics, combining an environmental approach with modern technologies. In particular, a member of the “BioTech” club, Yelyzaveta Vlasenko (academic supervisor — Associate Professor Olha Kuznetsova), received a bronze award for her research in the field of resource-efficient technologies. At the same time, a student of the “PRO Safety” club, Oryna Bahniuk (academic supervisor — Associate Professor Svitlana Harmash), was awarded a diploma with distinction for her work dedicated to alternative energy.

Such results are natural for the department, which systematically develops scientific clubs and has been cooperating for many years with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Thanks to this collaboration, school students gain the opportunity to participate in real research, work under the guidance of scientists, and present their projects at national and international levels.
