On 8 May 2026, the III (interregional) stage of the “Plich-o-plich” project of the All-Ukrainian Student Basketball League took place in Mykolaiv, where the team of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies won 2nd place.

The USUST team demonstrated coordinated play, resilience, and strong teamwork, successfully advancing through the group stage and reaching the final of the competition. In the decisive match, the athletes were defeated by the host team—the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (Mykolaiv)—thus securing a well-deserved silver medal and a qualification for the next stage.

An important role in the team’s preparation was played by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, Sports and Health of the SEI USUCT, Alla Mykolaivna Kyrychenko. Under her guidance, the athletes demonstrated discipline, tactical awareness, and a consistently high level of play.

The result confirms the high level of student sports development at the university and the effectiveness of athlete training within the SEI USUCT.
