The USUCT SEI Presented Specialty A7 to High School Students in Pavlohrad

On September 25, 2026, representatives of the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” of USUST held an online meeting with students of Gymnasium No. 19 of the Pavlohrad City Council, dedicated to choosing a future profession, opportunities for studying at the university, and learning about specialty A7 “Physical Culture and Sports”.

The high school students spoke with representatives of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Health of the USUCT SEI — Senior Lecturer Alla Mykolaivna Kyrychenko and Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Oksana Mykolaivna Ivchenko.

During the meeting, the students learned about the educational environment at USUST, the specifics of studying, practical training of students, opportunities for professional and personal development, student life, and areas for further professional realization of graduates.

The lecturers paid particular attention to specialty A7 “Physical Culture and Sports” and the educational program “Health and Adaptive Physical Culture”. The USUCT SEI presents this program as a field for training specialists in health and physical activity.

During the discussion, the students were explained that modern professional activity in the field of physical culture is not limited to sports and physical training. It includes health-promoting physical activity, the formation of a healthy lifestyle, adaptive physical culture, work with different population groups, and the development of programs aimed at maintaining physical activity and improving quality of life.

The lecturers also drew attention to the practical component of training. A future specialist needs not only to possess professional knowledge, but also to be able to work with people, assess their needs, select appropriate means of physical activity, and develop health-promoting and adaptive programs.

This focus also corresponds to the educational work of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Health. The Department works in the areas of physical training, health-promoting and recreational physical activity, adaptive physical culture, and sports training. Its sports facilities include sports halls, a gym, and a water sports facility, while the “Khimik” Sports Club brings together sections and national teams in various sports.

The online format did not interfere with live communication. The students had an opportunity to receive information directly from university lecturers and compare the opportunities offered by the specialty with their interests, abilities, and ideas about their future profession.

For assistance in organizing the career guidance meeting, representatives of the USUCT SEI express their gratitude to the Director of Gymnasium No. 19 of the Pavlohrad City Council, Stanislav Volodymyrovych Mazhara, for his openness to cooperation and support for students’ professional self-determination.

Special thanks to the class teacher, Kateryna Ivanivna Penkova, for organizing the meeting, communication, and support of the students.

For some of the participants, this meeting was their first introduction to USUST, while for others it may become the beginning of a more conscious choice of an educational and professional path.
