The USUCT SEI Held the “Autumn Navigator” Open Day
This time, the event program was designed so that guests could not only receive information about studying, but also explore specific areas of training through practical tasks and direct communication with lecturers.
One of the central parts of the Open Day was the interactive master classes. Prospective applicants had the opportunity to get a closer look at various professional areas, see how knowledge from academic disciplines is applied in practice, and try out certain types of work related to their future studies.
A separate section, “Specialties Without Filters: Who Is Who?”, was dedicated to choosing an educational pathway. Representatives of the institute explained how the specialties differ, what knowledge and competencies students acquire, and what areas of professional activity their future employment may be connected with.
An important part of the meeting was direct communication with the departments. Applicants could ask lecturers questions about the content of educational programs, practical training, laboratory facilities, student life, and opportunities for professional development. This format helped move from a general idea of a specialty to an understanding of what a student does during their studies and what professional tasks they will be able to perform after graduating from the university.
Prospective applicants were also told about the specifics of the admission campaign, opportunities for admission preparation, and the work of the admissions committee of the USUCT SEI. The institute offers preparatory and career guidance programs for school students and college graduates, which help them better prepare for admission and decide on their future specialty.
The “Autumn Navigator” program also included a small concert by students and a drawing for a Student Start-Pack for prospective applicants, as well as an opportunity to learn more about preparatory courses and get answers to practical questions about admission and studies.
The Open Day became a continuation of the systematic career guidance work of the USUCT SEI. During the previous academic year, the institute held 176 such events, including Open Days, meetings with school students, and the educational project “GREEN-ED. Green Education of Dnipro”.
“Autumn Navigator” gave participants the opportunity to see the USUCT SEI from the inside, communicate with those who teach students, and ask questions that are important when choosing a future profession.
