The project of the scientist of the SEI USUCT Pavlo Zadorozhny was recognized as the winner of the NFDU competition
Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technology of the National Research Institute of the Ukrainian State Technical University of Ukraine, Pavlo Zadorozhny, was recognized as the winner of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine competition held in partnership with the Netherlands Research Council NWO.
His scientific work is included in the international project VHP4Safety, which creates a virtual human platform for safe testing of chemicals without the use of animals.
As part of the project, Pavlo Zadorozhny is developing QSAR models to predict the toxicity of compounds to the thyroid gland. This approach allows for a faster assessment of the safety of potential drugs, more accurate prediction of risks to humans, and a reduction in the need for preclinical animal testing.
The collaboration became possible after a seminar between the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the NWO, where the researcher met colleagues from Maastricht and Leiden Universities. Today he works in an international team under the leadership of Professor Gerard van Westen.
The staff of the SEI USUCT sincerely congratulates Pavlo Zadorozhny on this significant achievement and is proud of the contribution of our institute to the development of modern approaches to toxicology and computer modeling.
