On September 16–18, 2026, the All-Ukrainian Monumental Painting Festival “Ukraine. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.” was held in Dnipro. Students and lecturers of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies took part in the art project, including representatives of the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology”.

The festival took place at Bartolomeo Best River Resort, where about 800 meters of fencing between the hotel and entertainment complex and Peremoha Embankment were transformed into a large-scale open-air art route. A total of 118 artistic sections were provided for its creation. Overall, the festival participants created 60 panels, 29 of them by USUST teams. The USUCT SEI was represented by three teams.

Representatives of the USUCT SEI worked directly at the festival site, transferring their creative ideas into large-scale compositions. For students of specialties A5 “Vocational Education. Digital Technologies”, G20 “Publishing and Printing”, and B2 “Design” of the Faculty of Food and Chemical Technologies, this was an opportunity to apply their professional knowledge and skills outside the classroom — in a real urban space. The work of the USUCT SEI student teams was coordinated by Associate Professor Anna Hura, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Food and Chemical Technologies.

Among the festival participants was USUCT SEI student Polina Sukhova. She dedicated her work to Ukrainian military personnel. The composition was based on the student’s personal story and her impressions of meeting a serviceman who, after difficult rehabilitation, gave her his chevron. Through this work, Polina Sukhova wanted to express her gratitude to those who defend Ukraine.

A special feature of the festival was that the works were created directly in front of the residents and guests of Dnipro. Over the course of three days, the concrete fence gradually transformed into an open art space that combined historical symbols, contemporary stories, and images of Ukraine’s future.

For students of the USUCT SEI, participation in the festival was an opportunity to combine education, creativity, and practical work with urban space. Professional skills in composition, graphics, color theory, and design were put into practice on a large scale, while the completed works became part of Dnipro’s open art project.

The “Ukraine. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.” festival left behind not only a large-scale art route, but also valuable experience for young designers who tried their hand at creating works for a real urban environment. For the USUCT SEI, this was another opportunity to demonstrate how students’ professional training can be combined with creative practice and participation in the cultural life of the city.
