On September 22, 2026, students and lecturers of the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” took part in the USUST blood donation campaign in support of patients of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I. I. Mechnikov.

The initiative was supported by USUST Rector, Professor Kostiantyn Sukhyi. Members of the university community donated blood for hospital patients, including wounded military personnel and civilians who require blood transfusions. Rector Kostiantyn Sukhyi himself was also among the first donors. In total, about 100 USUST students, lecturers, and staff members joined the university initiative on September 22.

As part of the large-scale blood donation drive, more than 75 liters of whole blood were collected at Mechnikov Hospital.

For students and lecturers of the USUCT SEI, participation in the blood donation campaign was an opportunity to directly support people who need medical assistance. Blood donation does not require special professional skills from participants, but each donation can provide essential help to a patient.

For USUST, such campaigns have already become part of its systematic charitable work. Students and lecturers of the educational and research institutes took part in blood donation initiatives in 2024 and 2025, and on January 20, 2026, as part of the “Blood of Unity for the Defenders of Ukraine” campaign, more than 200 USUST students and staff members donated blood at Mechnikov Hospital.

We thank the students and lecturers of the USUCT SEI who took part in the blood donation initiative and supported the common cause. Everyone’s participation helps create a university environment in which compassion and willingness to help have a tangible result.
