Silver award for a student of the USUCT at the Dnipro City Boxing Championship
On February 19–21, 2026, the Dnipro City Boxing Championship among youth and juniors took place in Dnipro — a ranking tournament that served as a qualifying stage for athletes to advance to regional and national competitions. The event was held under the auspices of the Dnipro Boxing Federation with the support of the City Department of Sports and brought together the strongest boxers of the city.
A worthy representative of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies was a student of the Educational and Scientific Institute USUCT from study group 1-FK-76, Andrii Plakhtyria, who won the honorable 2nd place and became the silver medalist of the championship.
Over the course of three competition days, Andrii demonstrated a high level of technical and tactical training, endurance, and confidence in the ring. In the semifinal bout, he achieved a convincing victory, which secured his place in the final. The decisive fight took place in a tense and evenly matched contest: the athletes acted with maximum focus, leaving no room for mistakes. According to the judges’ decision, Andrii took second place.
The achieved result is a significant sporting accomplishment for the institute and a testament to the systematic training, dedicated effort of the athlete, and the work of his coach. Participation in a tournament of this level confirms that students of the Educational and Scientific Institute USUCT successfully combine their studies with active sports activities and достойно represent the university at city competitions.
