On May 8, 2025, the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with the pharmacy chain “Med-Service”. The solemn signing ceremony took place in the hall of the pharmacy “Med-Service” at the address: Dnipro, Korolevy Elizavety St., 2 (Most-City Center Shopping Center).

Med-Service is the first all-Ukrainian pharmacy chain, which has been operating on the pharmaceutical market since 1995 and covers more than 100 cities of Ukraine. Cooperation with such a large-scale partner opens up new opportunities for students and teachers of the Department of Pharmacy and Technology of Organic Substances of the National Research Institute of Udmurt State Technical University.

Signatories of the memorandum:

• from USUST – Director of the National Research Institute of UDUNT, Professor of the Department of Fuel, Polymer and Printing Materials Technologies Olga Sverdlikovska;
• from Med-Service – Regional Director Sergiy Kozhan, Human Resources Director Yulia Demidova, Regional Human Resources Manager Katerina Druzhinina, Training Specialist Nataliya Minakova and Leading Training Specialist Anastasia Gulyaeva.

Also present at the event were teachers of the Department of Pharmacy and Technology of Organic Substances – Head of the Department Olexandr Kharchenko, Associate Professors Oksana Okhtina, Karolina Yanova, Oksana Berzenina, Oksana Kryshchyk, Ihor Yakymenko, as well as students of the specialties “Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy”, “Biotechnology and Bioengineering”, “Chemical Technology and Engineering”.

Main areas of cooperation:

• organization of internships, internships and dual training for students;
• implementation of joint educational projects and trainings;
• promotion of graduates’ employment;
• conducting joint scientific research and testing of developments in production conditions;
• improving the qualifications of university teachers and pharmacy chain specialists.

Immediately after signing the memorandum, representatives of “Med-Service” held a lecture-presentation for students of the specialty “Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy”, during which they spoke about the specifics of pharmacy work, ways of professional growth of pharmacists and adaptation to the first workplace.

In particular, the regional director Sergiy Kozhan emphasized the importance of the role of a pharmacist as a specialist who provides the population with quality medicines and advises patients. The head of the pharmacy Nataliya Borshchova shared her own experience of building a career, and training specialists Anastasia Gulyaeva and Nataliya Minakova conducted a training for students, where everyone could feel like a “first-time employee”.

In addition, the HR director Yuliya Demidova and the regional manager Katerina Druzhinina presented possibilities for internships and training in the Med-Service pharmacy chain, drawing attention to the individual approach to students, the possibility of a flexible schedule, and the support of mentors.

During the meeting, the director of the NNI of the UDUNT Olga Sverdlikovska and the head of the Department of Pharmacy and Technology of Organic Substances Olexandr Kharchenko discussed with representatives of “Med-Service” areas of further cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the new specialization “Chemical Technologies of Medicines and Medical Devices”, which opens up wide opportunities for students not only in the pharmaceutical but also in the manufacturing industry.

The memorandum between UDUNT and “Med-Service” is a strategic step towards high-quality practical training of students and increasing their competitiveness in the labor market. The introduction of new forms of dual education, expanding opportunities for internships and practices is what will allow our students not only to gain practical experience, but also to start a career while studying.
