On the occasion of the memory of the outstanding English poet and playwright William Shakespeare, on April 9, 2025, teachers of the Department of Philology and Translation of the SEI USUCT USUST and students of the specialties A4 Secondary Education, B11 Philology joined the public online lecture “What else is there?: Behind-the-scenes preparation for war in “Hamlet”” by Professor of English Philology at Abilene Christian University (Texas) Dr. Joseph Stephenson.

At the beginning of the lecture and after it, in a relaxed atmosphere, students talked with Dr. Joseph Stephenson. For our students, this was a good opportunity not only to deepen their understanding of Shakespeare’s famous drama, but also to communicate with a native English speaker (and they did not miss this opportunity – the event lasted more than two hours).

The lecture was organized by the Ukrainian Shakespeare Center, Abilene Christian University (USA) and the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the NAS of Ukraine, for which we are sincerely grateful to all of them.
