On September 10, 2026, an 150-meter running competition dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine was held at the USUST Athletics Arena. 50 students from the SEI “Prydniprovska State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports” and the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” took part in the race.

Students of the SEI USUCT joined the sporting event and tested their skills over the short distance, where speed, reaction, running technique, and the ability to mobilize maximum strength at the finish are essential.

The competition was a particular challenge for our students, as among the participants were representatives of the SEI PSAPCS who professionally engage in sports and have extensive experience competing. Despite this, the SEI USUCT students confidently took to the starting line, demonstrating sporting spirit, perseverance, and a willingness to compete on the same track with well-trained athletes.

The winners of the race were fourth-year student of the SEI PSAPCS Maria Tymoshenko, a Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine and a member of the Ukrainian national athletics team, who completed the distance in 21.1 seconds, and first-year student of the SEI PSAPCS Yaroslav Makarenko, with a result of 18.6 seconds.

For students of the SEI USUCT, participation in such competitions was an opportunity to test their own abilities, maintain physical activity, and take part in the university’s sporting life.
