SEI USUCT Researchers Showcased Their Developments and the University’s Innovation Potential at the 2U Tech Forum

Researchers of the Educational and Scientific Institute “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies participated in the 2U Tech Forum, one of the largest engineering and technology events in Ukraine, which traditionally brings together representatives of science, industry, business, innovative companies, and the startup community.

The forum served as a modern platform for discussing current trends in high technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, advanced materials science, biomedical engineering, industrial automation, and the development of innovation ecosystems. The event featured panel discussions, presentations of technological solutions, expert sessions, and networking opportunities among representatives of academia, research institutions, and industry.

This year, the 2U Tech Forum was held at the UNIT.City innovation park in Kyiv and brought together more than 2,000 participants, including representatives of leading Ukrainian and international companies, research institutions, higher education establishments, investors, technology startups, and the public sector. The forum programme covered topics related to artificial intelligence, engineering innovations, advanced materials, digital transformation, defense technologies, and the development of technology entrepreneurship.

The delegation of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies included representatives of the SEI USUCT:

  • Yuliia Polishchuk, Director of the USUST Research Center for Innovative Materials and Technologies, Senior Research Fellow of the Research Laboratory of Battery Systems and Energy, and Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology;
  • Oleh Kalinichenko, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Fuel, Polymer, and Printing Materials Technologies and a specialist in the development of biocompatible coatings for implants;
  • Olena Khomenko, Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass, and Biomaterials;
  • Oleksii Sihunov, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass, and Biomaterials and Head of the USUST Career Development, Employment, and Stakeholder Relations Office;
  • Oleksandra Amelina, Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass, and Biomaterials;
  • Yurii Hordieiev, Senior Research Fellow and Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass, and Biomaterials, Senior Researcher;
  • Olena Karasyk, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor.

During the forum, university representatives presented their research developments and findings in the fields of advanced materials, biomaterials, surface modification technologies, energy systems, and promising engineering solutions. Particular interest was attracted by developments aimed at practical applications in industry, medicine, and high-tech manufacturing.

A separate focus of the forum was devoted to technology transfer mechanisms, commercialization of research results, and the development of partnerships between universities and industry. Researchers from the SEI USUCT had the opportunity to discuss the prospects for implementing their developments with representatives of industrial enterprises and technology businesses, opening additional opportunities for applied research and future collaborative projects.

Participation in the 2U Tech Forum provided an important opportunity to showcase the scientific potential of USUST, exchange experience with members of the Ukrainian and international technology communities, and identify new areas for cooperation. The knowledge gained, professional contacts established, and up-to-date insights into emerging technologies will contribute to the further improvement of educational programmes, the advancement of research activities, and the implementation of innovative projects at the university.

The participation of representatives of the SEI USUCT in the 2U Tech Forum once again demonstrated the university’s active role in the development of modern science, engineering, and technology, as well as its readiness for effective cooperation with industry and the international professional community.
