On May 20, 2026, representatives of SEI «Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology» USUCT held an off-site career guidance event for students of Dnipro Lyceum No. 97 of the Dnipro City Council and turned the schoolchildren’s ordinary school day into an exciting introduction to the world of science, technology, and modern professions.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize students with study opportunities at SEI USUCT, current specialties, and modern trends in science, technology, and engineering. The event format combined interactive demonstrations, thematic quests, practical tasks, and live communication with university students and lecturers.

For schoolchildren, a number of thematic stations were organized, where each participant could not only observe experiments but also take part in practical tasks. The chemistry interactives aroused particular interest, during which students explored vivid reactions, substance properties, and chemistry’s application in daily life and modern industry.

At the technology stations, participants discovered modern materials, ecological technologies, and water treatment systems. They learned about water purification methods, environmental safety, and the role of engineers and technologists in solving current ecological problems.

Special attention was paid to fuel technologies and energy. Students learned about properties of different fuels, their use, and modern energy-saving approaches. Demonstrations showed how technologies create more efficient and eco-friendly fuel materials.

The materials science station was equally interesting, where participants explored properties of polymers, ceramics, composites, and functional materials, with examples of their use in medicine, construction, aviation, and daily life.

During the pharmaceutical zone, students learned about drug manufacturing processes, basics of pharmaceutical technologies, and quality control of preparations. Participants discovered how modern pharmacy combines chemistry, biotechnology, and medical developments.

The ceramics and design zone also captivated schoolchildren, where they explored the creation of decorative items and modern materials, and saw how science combines with creativity and art.

A separate block was dedicated to IT technologies. Students were told about programming, 3D modeling, modern digital professions, and prospects for technology development in Ukraine and the world.

Throughout the event, teams completed thematic quests, participated in contests, answered quiz questions, and performed practical tasks. For activity, creativity, and successful completion, participants received memorable gifts and prizes.

The career guidance event took place in a friendly and energetic atmosphere, leaving schoolchildren with positive emotions, new knowledge, and motivation for professional development. Such meetings help youth better understand modern professions and take first steps toward careers in science, technology, and innovation.
