Scientists of the SEI USUCT were honored on the occasion of World Science Day
On November 11, 2025, a ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development was held in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. The event honored the best scientists of the region – teachers of higher education institutions, postgraduate students and employees of research institutions who continue to work and develop science despite the challenges of war.
The participants were congratulated by the deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Iryna Hrytsay. She emphasized that science is, first of all, people who continue their research in blackouts, under shelling and in unstable conditions, but with faith in Ukraine and its future.
The Head of the Directorate for the Development of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Hryhoriy Mozolevych also joined the congratulations. He emphasized the importance of state support for scientific institutions during the war and the development of funding programs, in particular basic and infrastructure. He also noted the achievements of the universities of the Dnipropetrovsk region during the state certification – some of them will receive basic funding next year.
The first deputy chairman of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Taras Hryadil also delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized how critical the role of Ukrainian scientists is today, who, despite the loss of laboratories, logistical difficulties, destruction of infrastructure and limited resources, continue to carry out extremely important research in the fields of defense, security, energy and the restoration of the country.
This year, representatives of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology were awarded honorary diplomas from the Department of Education and Science of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. From the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology, the following received awards:
- Oleg Kabat, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Innovation Engineering;
- Oleg Farat, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Technology.
The award ceremony was held in the presence of the Rector of USUST Konstantyn Sukhoi and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Yuriy Proydak, who supported and congratulated our scientists.
After the award ceremony, the participants continued their conversation about the current state of science, the needs of researchers and the difficulties they face in wartime. They talked about funding priorities, the development of research infrastructure and support for young scientists who form the scientific potential of the region.
Separate words of gratitude were expressed to the Department of Education and Science of the Dnipropetrovsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre for its consistent support of the scientific community and initiatives aimed at the development of domestic science even in the most difficult times.
