Scientific Forum “Scientific Start: Ideas of the Future” at USUCT
On 18 May 2026, the scientific forum “Scientific Start: Ideas of the Future” was held at the SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” of USUST, organized on the initiative of the University Student Council and the Council of Young Scientists of the SEI USUCT.
Welcoming remarks were delivered to the participants by the Director of the SEI USUCT, Professor Olha Serhiivna Sverdlikovska, and the Deputy Director of the institute, Associate Professor Yaroslav Mykolaiovych Kozlov. They emphasized the importance of developing youth science, supporting student research, and encouraging active involvement of young people in scientific activities..
The forum brought together students, postgraduate students, young researchers, and everyone interested in modern science, innovation, and перспективних studies. Participants had the opportunity to present their own scientific achievements, exchange experiences, and engage in professional discussions on current scientific topics.
The event featured a series of scientific presentations covering key areas of biotechnology, materials science, medicine, and ecology:
- Oleh Kalinichenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, young researcher of the Chemistry and Chemical Technology faculty departments, research project leader — presentation “Innovative bioactive implant systems for reconstructive surgery after combat trauma with prolonged antibacterial effect”,
- Maksym Malook, Assistant of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety, PhD — topic “Microorganism antagonism as a foundation for future safety development”,
- Valeriia Pavlova, PhD, Assistant of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety — presentation “Biotechnological assessment of the antimicrobial potential of thiourea derivatives”,
- Mariia Verbytska, student of group 4-VP-9, presented the study “Investigation of ionic liquid synthesis”,
- Yevheniia Tkachenko, student of group 3-BT-57, presented “Composting the organic fraction of household waste as a method of improving environmental safety”,
- Svitlana Porubova, student of group 5-LZ-43, presented “Bibliometric analysis of Salubrinal research based on PubMed data”,
- Yelyzaveta Marchenko, student of group 2-BT-67, together with Kseniia Shevchenko, student of Dnipro Lyceum No. 139, presented “Use of non-toxic botulinum toxins as molecular delivery shuttles”,
- Pavlo Diachuk, student of group 2-BT-67, presented the report “Space biology and biotechnology”.
Representatives of academic departments and university faculty members attended the event to support young researchers and take part in the discussion of the presented results. After the presentations, participants answered questions and discussed the relevance and prospects of the scientific works.
The organization of such events is an important element in the development of the university’s scientific environment, contributing to the formation of students’ research competencies and creating conditions for their professional growth. The forum “Scientific Start: Ideas of the Future” became a platform for participants to present ideas, exchange experience, and take their first steps in scientific activity.
