Scientific developments and interactive research of the SEI USUCT at Dnipro Education City 2026

SEI “Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology” of USUST presented scientific developments and educational opportunities during the Dnipro Education City 2026 career guidance festival, which took place in Dnipro and brought together educational institutions of various levels.

As part of the event, visitors had the opportunity to communicate directly with lecturers, receive information about admission and study opportunities, and participate in interactive activities that helped them better understand modern professional fields.

In addition to department presentations, the institute showcased the results of scientific research carried out within projects of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. In particular, Professor of the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology Margarita Skyba, together with Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry Olena Velychko, presented the results of project 2025.07/0078 “Creation and Modification of New-Generation Low-Temperature Eutectic Solvents as Liquid-Phase Functional Materials: Application for Detection and Control of a Wide Range of Pollutants” (competition “Advanced Science in Ukraine 2026–2028”).

During the presentation, modern approaches to the development of innovative materials for the extraction and detection of pollutants of various origins were demonstrated. The integration of research results into the educational process of specialty G1 “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” (educational program “Drinking Water Technologies and Industrial Water Treatment”) and E2 “Ecology” clearly demonstrated the possibilities of combining education with scientific activity.

Also, Associate Professor of the Department of Fuel, Polymer and Printing Materials Technologies, Senior Researcher Oleg Kalinichenko presented the results of research in the field of biomaterials. His scientific work covers the following areas:

  • “Fundamental Principles for the Development of Personalized Implants for Military and Civil Medicine with Prolonged Antimicrobial Activity” (NRFU project),
  • “Innovative Bioactive Implantation Systems for Reconstructive Surgery after Military Injuries with Prolonged Antibacterial Action”.

The presented developments demonstrated the high level of modern Ukrainian science, its practical orientation, and the significant potential for the advancement of biomedical engineering. The integration of research results into the educational process contributes to the development of relevant competencies among students and opens broad opportunities for their professional realization.
