Representatives of the SEI USUCT USUST joined the cultural and educational event dedicated to the birthday of Taras Shevchenko

On March 6, 2026, representatives of the Educational and Scientific Institute USUCT of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies participated in a special cultural and educational event. The Council of Young Scientists of Dnipropetrovsk Region organized the event dedicated to the birthday of the spiritual prophet of the Ukrainian nation – Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko.

This meeting was not only a commemoration but also a living platform for rethinking the figure of Kobzar in contemporary realities.

The program of the event was rich and dynamic. The audience was addressed by prominent figures and scholars of the region:

  • Fidel Sukhonis – writer and journalist, member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (NSWU), TV host;
  • Ksenia Taranenko – scholar and public figure;
  • Yurii Beresten – historian, professor.

Together with the speakers, the attendees delved into little-known pages of the poet’s biography, discovering Shevchenko as a person, an artist, and an unyielding fighter. The interactive segment “Truth or Fiction” particularly captured interest, where participants tested their knowledge about Taras Shevchenko’s life and works, debunked common myths, and uncovered new facts from the poet’s biography. This format made the meeting not only informative but also lively and engaging.

The warm atmosphere of the event was complemented by readings of Kobzar’s poetry. Students and faculty of the Educational and Scientific Institute USUCT not only listened but became a living voice of the event, reciting the poet’s immortal verses. Representing our university were:

  • Meryam Muradova (Group 3-BT-57), participant of “Literary Club USUCT”;
  • Oleksandra Sniehur (Group 4-PO-12);
  • Alina Hordiienko (Group 4-FIL-65);
  • Valeriia Pavlova, Assistant of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Safety, Chair of the Council of Young Scientists of the Educational and Scientific Institute USUCT.

Their recitations highlighted that Shevchenko’s poetry remains a relevant source of strength for contemporary youth and the academic community.

The legacy of Taras Shevchenko today is our cultural shield. Participation in such events helps students feel connected to a great history and fosters the national consciousness of the future scientific elite.

We thank the organizers and our talented participants for representing the university with distinction!
