November 1-3, 2024 on the basis of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after AND. “Global GreenChem Hackathon 2024” took place in Sikorskyi. The hackathon is aimed at finding innovative solutions based on the principles of green chemistry. The main goal is to find environmentally safe, efficient and economically profitable solutions to the challenges faced by industrial enterprises.

NNI UDHTU was represented at this event by Svitlana VARENYCHENKO, associate professor of the F and TOR Department, and Valery PAVLOVA, a 4th-year graduate student of the F and TOR Department.

The Hackathon was opened by Onieka OBIOCHA, Director of the GreenChem Accelerator Program, Yale University Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering.

Andrii VORFOLOMEEV, Director of the Center for Resource-Efficient and Clean Production, and Olena TABACHUK, Program Manager of the Green Chemistry Business Accelerator of the same center, gave a welcome speech.

Industrial partners DeLaMark (a Ukrainian company producing household chemicals and cosmetic care products) and Dow Chemical (an international chemical company) presented the challenges of the Hackathon. Participants had the opportunity to listen to the lectures “Basics of green chemistry: how to develop safe products”, “Design thinking for finding ideas and solutions” and “How to effectively present your ideas: tips for preparing for pitching”.

All participants of the event received certificates of participation.
