Radio dictation of national unity 2025 at the SEI USUCT
On October 27, 2025, employees, teachers and students of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology ГЫГЫЕ joined the annual Radio Dictation of National Unity, which has been taking place at the initiative of “Ukrainian Radio” since 2000 with the aim of uniting Ukrainians around language and culture.
In the main building of the university, before the start of the dictation, those present recalled the history of this action, discussed the power of the native word and the importance of writing for national identity.
The text of this year’s dictation had the symbolic title “We Must Live!”, the author was the writer Evgenia Kuznetsova, who is known for her bestsellers “Ask Miechka”, “The Ladder”, as well as for her study of language relations in the context of the Soviet Union “Language-Sword. How the Soviet Empire Spoke”. The text was read by the People’s Artist of Ukraine, theater and film actress Nataliya Sumska.
During the dictation, the audience was focused and attentive. For many, participation in the national dictation was not just a literacy test, but a symbolic gesture of support for the Ukrainian language, especially in the face of current challenges.
After the event, those present actively exchanged impressions: they shared which words caused difficulties (in particular, the text of this year’s dictation contained atypical and rarely used words), and considered the possibility of sending the work for verification.
The staff of the National Institute of Literature of the Ukrainian State Technical University expresses sincere gratitude to the management of the educational and scientific institute, in particular to Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Olga Sergeevna Sverdlikovska, for supporting the event and creating favorable conditions for writing the dictation.
We are convinced that such events not only stimulate linguistic self-improvement, but also unite the academic community around the values of the native language, culture, and the common future of the Ukrainian state.
We invite you to continue to join the actions that unite and inspire, because the Ukrainian language is not just a means of communication, but our common spiritual home.
