Professor of the SEI USUCT Olesya Shmychkova was awarded the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry of the SEI USUCT USUST Olesya Shmychkova received one of the most prestigious state awards for young researchers – the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Young Scientists for 2023.

At a solemn ceremony on December 4, 2025, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk presented diplomas and awards to the laureates, emphasizing that these awards are not only a sign of respect and support, but also confirmation that the state highly appreciates the significant contribution of Ukrainian researchers to the development of science. “Young scientists are the intellectual foundation of the country. Ukrainian science has power, and our task is to create all the conditions for it to work for the security, stability and development of the state,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

Works from 16 fields of science were submitted to the competition from representatives of 18 regions of Ukraine. Among the participants are scientists from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, industry academies, as well as institutions of the security and defense sector.
