From June 29 to July 2, 2025, the team of the Department of Inorganic Technology and Ecology of the National Research Institute of the State University of Water Technology of Ukraine UDUNT participated in the second in-person meeting of the international project DIGISKILLS (“Strengthening Digital Skills in Higher Education in the Water Sector”) under the Erasmus+ program.

The event was held at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Os, Norway.

The USUST delegation included the head of the department Ihor Kovalenko, professor Roman Smotraev, and assistant Kateryna Sorochkina. As part of the meeting, the participants:

• received training from European colleagues on digital tools in education;
• presented the results of the analysis of current curricula;
• worked on the development of five new modules on the digitalization of the water sector (IoT, Big Data, modeling/simulation);
• participated in the ICA2025OSLO conference dedicated to innovations in water infrastructure;
• get acquainted with the GroupMap software for interactive teaching;
• planned the next stages of cooperation, including a training course in Romania.

The Department of TNR and E actively implements the knowledge gained during international events into the modernization of educational programs in the specialties 101 “Ecology” and 161 “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” with a professional focus Drinking Water and Industrial Water Treatment Technologies in the Production of Inorganic Substances.
