Participation of scientists from the SEI USUCT in an interdisciplinary roundtable on implantology
On June 10, 2025, an interdisciplinary roundtable discussion on the prospects for the development of implantology in Ukraine was held at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. The event brought together leading scientists, engineers, doctors, and developers to create modern solutions in the field of medical implants, taking into account the needs of both civilian and military medicine.
The Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology was well represented by specialists whose activities are related to the development of implant materials, 3D printing, chemical technologies and bioactive coatings:
- Stanislav Kovalev, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Energy, specialist in the field of 3D design and additive manufacturing;
- Oleg Kalinichenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Fuel Technologies, Polymeric and Printing Materials, expert in titanium processing and creation of functional bioactive coatings;
- Mykhailo Sukhyi, postgraduate student working on new generation implants.
The round table discussed the key tasks facing Ukrainian science and medicine in wartime: from the development of individual implants with titanium with functional coatings for in vitro and in vivo testing, as well as the future organization of the national center for implantology.
Scientists of the SEI USUCT demonstrated high expertise in areas related to implant technologies, which is the key to successful interdisciplinary interaction between the engineering and medical communities.
This round table became an important starting point on the path to creating world-class Ukrainian medical implants with the involvement of those specialists who are today shaping the technological future of the country.
