On September 11, 2025, students of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology had the opportunity to join an open lecture by Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Inventor of the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau Yuriy Alekseevich Mitikov. The topic of the meeting was investments in the future through the development of rocket engines and the training of specialists in this field.

The event was organized by the teachers of our institute for students of various educational levels – bachelors, masters and PhD candidates of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering – in the following specialties:

• G3 (141) Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics,
• G4 (144) Thermal Power Engineering,
• G7 (174) Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics,
• G9 (131) Applied Mechanics,
• G11 (133) Industrial Mechanical Engineering.

This initiative is designed to expand educational opportunities, open up new prospects for obtaining double diplomas, and create conditions for closer cooperation with industry enterprises.

During the lecture, the following issues were discussed: why the specialty “Rocket Engines” was the basis for a new educational direction in Dnipro, why USUST became the base for this, what future employment opportunities are open to students, and how the form of study was built.

Special attention was paid to the importance of a high level of training in chemistry, engineering disciplines, English, and communication skills, because a modern engineer must be not only a technical specialist, but also an effective member of international teams.

More than 100 students participated in the lecture, which once again emphasized the interest of young people in the future of rocketry and the relevance of the issues discussed.
