The project GREEN-ED. Green Education of the Dnipro is aimed at introducing the principles of sustainable development, environmental awareness, and modern scientific and educational approaches into the system of general secondary education. Its goal is to familiarize schoolchildren with “green” chemistry, environmentally friendly technologies, practical aspects of environmental protection, and to foster interest in natural sciences through interactive lectures and laboratory classes with the participation of higher education institutions.

As part of preparations for the implementation of the educational project GREEN-ED. Green Education of the Dnipro, the first working meeting was held on January 15, 2026 with the participation of representatives of higher and general secondary education institutions of the city of Dnipro.

The meeting was attended by:

• Director of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology, USUST, Professor Sverdlikovska Olga Sergiivna,
• Executive Secretary of the Selection Committee, Professor Skyba Margarita Ivanivna,
• Head of the Organizational Work Department of the General Secondary Education Department of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Dnipro City Council Serikova Natalia Volodymyrivna,
• Director of the Dnipro Gymnasium No. 141 of the Dnipro City Council Khomyak Iryna Viktorivna.

During the working meeting, the organizational and substantive aspects of the project implementation were discussed, and priority areas of cooperation between the higher education institution and the city’s schools were identified. In particular, the participants agreed on the topics of lectures and laboratory practical classes for schoolchildren, and also formed a preliminary schedule for their implementation for each week until May.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of elements of “green” education, modern approaches in the field of chemistry, environmentally friendly technologies and practice-oriented experiments aimed at forming an ecological culture and scientific worldview in schoolchildren.

The meeting was an important step in establishing effective interaction between educational institutions and creating conditions for the successful implementation of the GREEN-ED. Green Education of the Dnipro project.
