On September 20, 2025, Ukraine celebrates Inventor and Rationalizer Day – a holiday for those who create new things and introduce innovations in science and technology.

According to the report of the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of USUCT Yuriy Proydak, teachers and scientists of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology demonstrate high activity in the field of invention. In 2025 alone, the institute filed 8 applications (2 inventions and 6 utility models) and received 17 patents (5 inventions and 12 utility models). This significantly exceeds the results of the previous year.

Among the most productive inventors of the institute:

• Zaichuk Oleksandr Viktorovich, Head of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass and Biomedical Materials, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor – 4 patents for inventions;
• Amelina Oleksandra Andriivna, Senior Researcher of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass and Biomedical Materials, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor – 4 patents for inventions;
• Khomenko Olena Sergiivna, Senior Researcher of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Ceramics, Glass and Biomedical Materials, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor – 4 patents for inventions;
• Sukhyi Kostyantyn Mykhailovych, Head of the Department of Fuels, Polymeric and Printing Materials, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor – 3 patents for inventions and 3 for utility models;
• Poloz Oleksiy Yuriyovych, doctoral student of the Department of Fuels, Polymeric and Printing Materials – 5 patents for utility models.

These achievements confirm that the SEI USUCTplays an important role in the development of the university’s innovative activities and makes a significant contribution to the formation of the scientific potential of Ukraine.
