From the depth of water to choosing a profession at career guidance with students at Lyceum No. 31

On March 20, 2026, the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and Ecology held an informative and engaging meeting with students of Lyceum No. 31 of the city of Dnipro on the topic “Water, Drinking Water Quality, and Modern Water Treatment Technologies”.

During the event, the students became acquainted with current issues of water quality, the main sources of its contamination, as well as modern approaches to drinking water purification and treatment. Particular interest was sparked by examples of real technologies used in industry and the коммунальний sector.

As part of the meeting, the specialty G1 (161) “Chemical Technologies and Engineering” was also presented, which provides comprehensive training of specialists in the field of water purification, water treatment, and wastewater processing. Special emphasis was placed on the role of such professionals in ensuring environmental safety and sustainable development.

The students were introduced to the key areas of training:

  • water treatment and purification for various purposes;
  • water quality control and physicochemical analysis;
  • environmental engineering and minimization of industrial wastewater impact on the environment.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities for practical training, participation in scientific research, and employment prospects. In particular, graduates can pursue careers as:

  • specialists in selecting reagents for water treatment;
  • managers for technical support of water treatment programs;
  • specialists in optimization of water treatment processes;
  • consultants for industrial and municipal enterprises;
  • specialists in the implementation of chemical products in the field of water treatment.

It was emphasized that this field combines chemistry, engineering, and applied business solutions and is one of the most in-demand areas in the modern labor market.

The department expresses its gratitude to the students and teachers of Lyceum No. 31 for their active participation, interest, and constructive dialogue. We look forward to further cooperation and will be glad to see future applicants among the university students.
