Flash mob “Strength in Unity” for the Unity Day of Ukraine
On January 22, Ukraine celebrates Unity Day – the day of the proclamation of the Act of Union of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1919. This historical event became a symbol of the desire of the Ukrainian people for unity and independence. Unity is more relevant than ever today, when Ukraine is once again fighting for its territorial integrity.
On January 22, 2025, a flash mob “In unity is strength” dedicated to Unity Day was held at the National Institute of Ukrainian History and Culture of the Ukrainian State Technical University. The leaders of the university and the institute addressed the participants of the event.
In his speech, the Rector of UDUNT, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Konstantyn Sukhyi emphasized that Unity is not only a memory of the past, but also a struggle for the future, for the hearts of the younger generation. He emphasized that unity is our main weapon.
Acting Director of the National Research Institute of the Ukrainian State Technical University, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Olga Sverdlikovska noted that this year’s Unity Day is especially important and long-suffering for Ukrainians. She wished everyone peace, health, harmony and strength to rebuild Ukraine.
The participants of the event honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the independence and unity of Ukraine with a minute of silence.
Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Humanitarian Policy, Doctor of Public Administration, Professor Galyna Yevseeva emphasized that it is in unity that our strength and the key to victory lie, which is especially relevant in modern conditions.
On the Fountain Square of the National Research Institute of the Ukrainian State Technical University, students and employees of the Ukrainian State Technical University joined the celebration.
During January, the university held a number of events dedicated to the Day of Unity. Thematic book exhibitions and literature reviews were organized in the library. A documentary film dedicated to the events preceding the signing of the Act of Union of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic was shown in the Art Space of the SEI of the USUCT.
The celebration of the Day of Unity became a bright event for all students and teachers of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. We sincerely wish everyone good, peace, and deep faith in a strong, independent, united Ukraine!
